Strategic Development Support for Scottish Communities for Health and Wellbeing

Scottish Communities for Health and Wellbeing is dedicated to promoting and delivering health improvements and reducing health inequalities in many of Scotland’s communities in most need. They are seeking somebody to undertake Strategic Development Support for the next year.

The main conditions of this very flexible contract are that it is for a max of 21 hours per month at £25 per hour plus expenses and initially for one year.

Key activities listed below require a committed, knowledgeable and experienced individual with the ability to take the initiative and contribute confidently to strategic decision making. 

  • Advocacy on behalf of SCHW and our Blueprint

  • Production of materials on key messages/developments for sharing with contacts/partners

  • Contributing to website and social media messages

  • Nurturing key partnerships eg PHS/Alliance/ SCCPs/research bodies

  • Support for SSPN (Scottish Social Prescribing Network) and identifying the support which SCHW might provide

  • Attendance and contributions to national/partner conferences etc\Liaison with the SCHW Board (Contributing to monthly Board meeting)

  • Scan/identify funding opportunities for SCHW and SCHW consortia

  • Identify research papers etc linked to the work of SCHW, community led health improvement and the social model of health

  • Raise awareness of partnership activities/developments with parallel bodies in NI/England/Wales/Ireland
