Collaboration across sectors - call for examples
/Are you involved in work at a community level which tackles health inequalities?
Is this work a collaboration across sectors – community, voluntary and public sectors?
If you have experience of what it takes to undertake cross-sector collaborative work with local communities, we'd love to hear from you!
There is an increasing health inequalities policy focus on cross sector collaboration, and current approaches such as place-based working and Marmot Places offer useful frameworks to help understand what works well and why. However, there is also a risk that established and ongoing good practice in this area goes unnoticed when new policies and initiatives are developed and published.
It is important for us to highlight that plenty of strong and effective partnership work is happening around Scotland, and that that continued investment and support in this existing work is vital.
We are interested in hearing from anyone involved in collaborative work to reduce health inequalities in local communities in Scotland, so we can ensure that learning and experience from work already happening on the ground can inform key decision making.
We'll be identifying key themes around what works and what is essential to a strong collaborative process. In particular, we want to learn from work that:
Involves meaningful collaboration between public sector and the voluntary and community sector
The work is aimed at tackling health inequalities and/or working in and with marginalised and disadvantaged communities. This could include geographically focused work and also work with a range of groups with protected characteristics.
That gives the people in communities most affected by health inequalities a meaningful voice in shaping the work
Has some evaluation or learning that can be shared
If you are involved in work that fits this description and would like to share your valuable learning and experience with us, you can email Andrew from the CHEX team. Please include links to, or attach, any existing reports, evaluation or other learning about the work if you can.
We'll keep you up to date on this work and be sharing useful outcomes from it when we have them, so stay tuned!
