A banner moment for the project!

the banner itself, asking and answering the question: ‘What is community development's unique contribution to tackling health inequalities?’

As part of the policy round table discussion event held in Glasgow in March 2026, the project group and other attendees got a little creative and collectively designed and made a collaged banner, to share the words and images which answered this question:

What is community development's unique contribution to tackling health inequalities?

The banner might have been a fun interlude in a busy day of policy discussion, but it has an importance beyond the glue and tape holding it (hopefully!) together. It represents the thoughts of the project group, their chosen words and what is meaningful to them in the work that they do.

It highlights the fundamental importance of relationships, trust and shared learning, reminding us that our power is in our collective voice and our collaborative actions, and that people should always be at the heart of the work.

You can see some images of the banner and our group hard at work in the gallery below.

And we have made a short video too - watch it at the top of the page or directly on YouTube.
