News from the network: Healthy n Happy First Minister Funding

Earlier this summer network member Healthy n Happy welcomed First Minister Alex Salmond and Minister for the Commonwealth Games, Sport, Equalities and Pensioners' Rights Shona Robison to their offices in Rutherglen.

Mr Salmond and Ms Robison announced a £4.48 million investment for projects near Commonwealth Games venues, with Health n Happy being one of the organisations receiving funding.

Health n Happy, working with Clyde Gateway, plan to use the funding to develop new community facilities in the Rutherglen and Cambuslang area. The new venue will focused around the community radio station, with a community consultation taking place and an aim to have a new venue up and running within a year.

The above video features Healthy n Happy Executive Director Brendan Rooney and Mr Salmond, both talking about the impact the funding will have.
