Exploring Scotland’s Diverse Heritage with Minority Ethnic Led Community Groups

Scotland has many diverse communities and hidden histories waiting to be discovered and shared. The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) helps people and communities to look after and celebrate their heritage.  Is your organisation thinking about applying for funding? Do you have an idea that you wish to explore further?

Heritage can be anything from the past that you want to pass to future generations. It could be researching long ago history, learning more about current traditions, uncovering community memories, or exploring the natural or built environment around you.

West of Scotland Regional Equality Council (WSREC) and the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) are planning this half-day event in Glasgow on 20 January 2016 to:

  • Listen to experiences and share project ideas.
  • Chat with the HLF team about your project idea to make sure it fits well with HLF funding aims.
  • Talk to Resourcing Scotland’s Heritage about their fundraising workshops.

The Heritage Lottery Fund are currently gathering initial expressions of interest to gauge numbers for the day so let them know if you can come along by emailing Caroline McKoen at cmckoen@wsrec.co.uk, and they will confirm your place by early January 2016.
