Community-led health in the news!

You might have caught the late night interview last week with John Cassidy, Volunteer Director with ‘Healthy n Happy’, Scottish Communities for Health & Wellbeing and member of CHEX Advisory Committee. The interview was conducted by Sarah Smith; BBC 2’s Scotland 2014 and highlighted the cause and effects of health inequalities in Scotland.  John was interviewed alongside Graham Watt, Professor of general practice and primary care at Glasgow University.

John did an excellent job of describing the activities involved in community-led health and highlighted its benefits and impacts.  He finished the interview by talking about social prescribing and the opportunities offered to patients in the community.  The broadcast will be available on the BBC iPlayer until the end of December 2014.
