HIIC Tutor Resources
This is the page for ideas and resources that will help tutors develop their use of HIIC with a variety of groups and in various settings. There are guidelines for using the pack with different groups and we welcome further ideas or materials that you may have used or introduced yourself.
In addition there are various short course ideas featured on this page which you can access via the links below as well as all the course handouts in large print format.
Guidelines/Resources for Delivery
In addition to the Tutor Guidelines in the HIIC Pack we have produced further guidelines and resources which we hope will be of assistance to tutors in their use of HIIC with different groups. The links to these resources are given below:
- HIIC Sight Loss Guidelines - These were developed in conjunction with Fife Healthy Living and Sensory Awareness Project and are designed to support HIIC Delivery with visually impaired people/people with sight loss.
- Guidelines for Freelance Delivery - There have been an increasing number of requests from statutory organisations for commissioned or contracted HIIC delivery. These guidelines have been developed to help give HIIC tutors an idea of reasonable charges for HIIC delivery whilst not being overly prescriptive or restrictive.
- Youth Resource Pack - This has been developed to be a complementary resource for tutors in developing, negotiating and using HIIC with young people in a variety of settings. We have also developed workshops to help tutors become more familiar with the resource and how it can be used.
- Evaluation Guide - This resource has been developed to help tutors assess and demonstrate the impact of HIIC training on participants, their communities and the services/ agencies that impact on their lives. We also hope that it will provide us with a more robust body of evidence that will demonstrate how HIIC links to both national and local outcomes as well as addressing community health issues/priorities.
