Unit 11 – Private Troubles and Public Issues
The unit focuses on the issue of food to illustrate the underlying causes of health issues and how these can be tackled using a community development approach.
Unit 12 – Making Democracy Work
A basic introduction to ‘who does what’ in the health services. Learning about the different structures and talking to some of those involved. Consumers or citizens?
Unit 13 – Getting Below The Surface
Ideas about education for social change. How to enable people to say what really concerns them and to identify the key issues.
Unit 14 – Working With Groups
What makes a group work well? What makes it frustrating? Examining the different things that go on in groups. Introduction to the ‘Task and Process’ aspect of groups.
Unit 15 – Community Research Projects – Presentation and Analysis
Group presentation on the findings of their research
Unit 16 – Review And Evaluation
Final help with assignment. Review of learning and Course evaluation.
