HLC Conference 2006
The HLC Conference November 2006 – Hampden Football Park, Glasgow attracted a wide range of delegates from across the country. Brendan Rooney (Cambuslang and Rutherglen HLI) expertly chaired the conference which included presentation from Kenny Steele (Paths to Health), Marie Hedges (Health Connect HLC), Sheila McMahon (Dundee HLI) and a DVD presentation recording the work of Islay HLC. Following the break Mary Castles from the Community Led Supporting and Developing Healthy Communities Task Group, Eric Samuels – Policy and Development Officer, Big Lottery Fund and Simon Goodenough from The HLC Alliance, England discussed the importance of the work, the future role for HLCs, the research from the Bridge Consortium which strongly suggests that the model works across the UK and how our cousins in England have been responding to the challenge of sustainability.
